CAMP RULES FOR 2008
Please read and make sure you can accept these rules and be happy with them (even if they don't reflect your personal judgment) before sending in your application. Updated 3-14-08 This will be a camp run by Christians and we want to be careful and respectful. Therefore there will be some rather strict regulations concerning dress and behavior. Some of these rules may be stricter than those that you apply in your own personal life, or even those of other Florida College camps, but we hope that you can adapt yourself to them for the comfort and happiness of others. We are not saying that these are necessarily "Gods rules," but simply some standards which will help us avoid misunderstandings. If you feel that you cannot adapt to these rules or if they will make you unhappy and complain, please do not send us this application and please dont come to camp. If after making your deposit or payment, you decide that you cannot be happy with these regulations, please let us know and we will happily refund your deposit or your money. Please dont embarrass yourself and us by coming to camp and trying to test us regarding these rules. Here are some which will be enforced: * No cell phone use except at designated times or with permission * No radios, stereos, walkmans, CD players or personal entertainment electronics among campers.
* No profanity, crude joking, smoking, fireworks or other disruptive behavior or items.
* Apart from normal, friendly and pure greetings, no touching between members of the opposite sex. * Please, no tight pants, low cut tops, shorts, short blouses that reveal the midriff during athletics, muscle shirts etc. If there is any doubt that a certain article of clothing might or might not be acceptable, dont bring it. * No super baggy pants, earings for men, etc. such as those worn in gangs. * Pants and cutoffs for men and women must be below the knee when sitting down. We've have had some problems enforcing this rule (complaints and hurt feelings) in past years. The test is real simple. Put on the cutoffs and then sit down as you would at camp. If the pants "crawl" up above your knees even an inch or two, they violate the dress code. Please don't bring them!
* Please obey counselors and staff at all times. If you cannot, you will be asked to leave camp. If you feel you can be happy with rules like these, even though they may not reflect your personal judgment, we look forward to having you! |
